Bulk Coordinate Converter

Paste or upload a list of Decimal Degrees, DMS, DDM, UTM, MGRS, US State Plane (SPCS) or UK Grid coordinates and see every other format side by side. Mix formats in one paste, then download as CSV or send the points to the map.

Paste or upload coordinates

Each line is parsed independently. Formats like MGRS, UTM and UK Grid carry their own datum, so the fallback above is only used when the format is ambiguous (such as plain decimal degrees).

Paste or upload coordinates above to see them converted into every format here.

Need to plot these on a map after converting? Use the "Open in Map" button to send the parsed points to the interactive map view.

About this bulk converter

This tool is built for a workflow that comes up constantly in surveying, GIS, drone planning and field data collection: you have a list of coordinates in one format and you need them in another. Instead of converting them one at a time, paste the whole list and get a clean table back. Every point is parsed independently, converted into every supported format, and you can copy individual cells, whole columns, or download the entire table as CSV for Excel.

Each line is auto-detected. The parser recognises the shape of Decimal Degrees, Degrees-Minutes-Seconds, Degrees-Decimal-Minutes, UTM, MGRS and UK Grid references (both alphanumeric like TQ37942 78526 and pure numeric Eastings/Northings). You can mix formats freely on one paste: lat/long on one line, a UK Grid reference on the next, MGRS on the one after. Format-locked formats automatically use the correct datum (OSGB36 for UK Grid, WGS84 for MGRS); for ambiguous numeric inputs you can pick a fallback datum (WGS84, OSGB36, NAD83, NAD27 or ETRS89).

Common conversions

The batch converter above handles all of these in one paste. If you want a written explainer for any specific pair, jump to the matching guide:

Who uses the batch converter?

Surveyors

Convert site control points between OSGB36 Eastings/Northings, UK Grid references and WGS84 lat/long before sharing with a client or a CAD package.

GIS analysts

Clean and standardise messy coordinate lists from multiple sources before importing into QGIS, ArcGIS or PostGIS. UTM, MGRS and DD all parse from one paste.

Drone & aviation pilots

Convert waypoints between DD, DDM (common on GPS handhelds) and DMS (aviation charts) without retyping each one.

Search & rescue / emergency services

Translate MGRS grid references reported over radio into civilian latitude and longitude for mapping software in seconds.

Hikers & outdoor crews

Turn a list of UK Grid references from an OS map into lat/long for Google Maps, or the other way round, in one go.

Data cleanup

Drop a .csv export from any field-data app, pick the right datum, and get back a clean, Excel-ready table with every standard format computed.
